The cover was really good, dark and eery with the roses adding a splash of colour and intrigue. However the writing style didn't do anything for me and i gave up halfway through the excerpt, far too much descriptive language for me with what seemed to me unnecessary detail about every single thing.
The first person narrative was not working for me either, especially as it just throws you into it with no detail at all about who the 'I' is that you are supposed to be following.
