The cover definitely caught my attention; I like the font and the imagery as well as how it straight up screams crime novel. The first chapters didn't hinder my intrigue as the characters seems complex and the mystery something that I'd like to try and figure out. I've never read any crime novels set in Australia, which makes The Dark Lake even more something that I'd love to read. My first impression is that The Dark Lake is definitely something I'd like to dive in!
