As soon as I started reading this book I was gripped. It automatically drew me in to find out what whispered to the deceased woman and why the detective was hiding how close they were. As the story progresses the reader is given more snippets of what went on between the two women but doesn’t give too much away at once. The main character is not portrayed as some damaged woman, but as a woman with a past and issues going on in her personal life without it taking over the story. I enjoyed this all the way through. It is a quite a large book but I read it in two sittings because I wanted to know what happened. I like that the chapters show the time period the story is set over. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good thriller and it’s a great debut novel.
