I was very lucky in winning this book, this book is the first bye this author.
It was a fantastic story with real believable characters. It kept me gripped right up to the end, and did the end surprise me. I was not ready for that. The character Gemma seems very mixed up emotionally but she remains a professional policewoman through out the story. I began to believe that she will not solve this case as there was very little in the way of any clues. The story take place in Australia at Christmas time and her vivid descriptions of the intense heat had me sweating along with the story. I could feel that I was there during the investigations. It takes good writing to put that type of thought in my mind and make me not want to put the book down.
