A complex and all encompassing murder mystery.

Told from the perspective of Dan Grant, criminal lawyer and solicitor advocate with the right to appear at Crown Court cases. This finds him defending Peter Box who stands accused of the murder by drowning of Lizzie. Peter won't however provide any king of alibi to the murder and won't talk to Dan at all about any type of defence. There is circumstantial evidence against Box and Dan finds that he is struggling to mount a sufficient defence in what is to be his first murder trial without the support of a QC. Added to this pressure Dan's mentor and boss, Pat, announces not only his retirement but his worries about the safety of the conviction of a man that he once defended earlier in his career. This sends Dan into a tailspin as there are similarities to the case he is currently working on.
