This is a bit of a slow burner. In the First Impression we are fed snippets of information intended to keep us reading but they are few and far between. Unfortunately the blurb has served to take some of the mystery from Peter Box so the build up to the trial has fairly minimal impact.

In fact, nothing really grabbed me about this tale. I found it hard to engage with any of the characters - although the penniless P.I. does have potential. The writing itself is pretty good and the story flows smoothly and with a general sense of purpose.

This is one of those books that I would pick up on sale but wouldn't pay full cover price for.
