this has a slight twist to the usual plot lines of this genre including the main good guy not being truly good. the story builds quickly and grips you til the very end. would recommend to any crime fans and would be a good beginner book too.
I feel more can come from these characters in future books as this has only scraped the surface of their stories.
one of the good points about this book is that it doesnt flick from one person to another too quickly so you can keep up with who is doing what. the courtroom scenes are brilliantly atmospheric and in fact the authors descriptions in general draw you in perfectly.
its nice to have a capable female in the mix that doesnt need rescuing continuously.
