Life-affirming feel good drama - poignant and uplifting.
What an uplifting book this promises to be and what better starting point than a game which we all remember playing.. the dream dinner date question.
The FI opens strongly and drops readers straight into the drama as Sabrina processes just what is unfolding. I loved the style of present-tense narration for the dinner party and then the distinct past tense look at the memories, stories and life lessons learnt from others and our experiences at the time.
Whilst I expect suspension of disbelief is a necessity, The Dinner List looks to be a life-affirming and ultimately uplifting read with potential for some more profound moments. I can imagine reading this and trying to figure out the people who have influenced by life in some significant way!
