I was attracted by the premise of this book, and thought I would enjoy it. I didn't. Although it was well-written, and gave a good sense of time and place, and I liked the way the chapters flipped back and forth between the 'now' of the dinner party and the 'historical' of the years leading up to the dinner, I just wasn't interested. I didn't like the central characters much, and I found the story mundane and lacking any great insights. I felt it was obvious early on where the plot was heading, and struggled to keep reading. On the positive side, I found the peripheral characters and the interaction between them quite likeable and interesting. Unfortunately I just couldn't make myself care much about Sabrina, Tobias or Jessica.
