I remember seeing this book all over instagram when it was featured as a 'book of the month' choice and saw so many people raving over how wistful and heartwarming it was. It's partly my fault for going into it with such high expectations and ready for a really incredibly fantastical story but I just didn't connect with it.

It just didn't draw me in or keep me as interested in it as I'd hoped - granted, it was a very unique plot, and one I'd never read anything like before. Sabrina and her best friend, Jessica, make a list of 5 people they would invite to a dinner party (family members, celebs, whoever - you know that game you probably once played and it most likely consisted of 5 book characters lol). Well for Sabrina, that list becomes true at her 30th birthday dinner. It was mildly entertaining and enjoyable, but I was just too disconnected that it felt like a bit of a drag to finish.. although, I can understand how and why so many others love this book!
