I really enjoyed this book, much more than I first thought I was going to. From the start I was intrigued by the concept, as haven't we all wondered who we'd invite to our dream dinner party? Exploring what would happen if the dream came true was an attractive idea. But the fact is that the story went so much further than I was expecting. Rather than just a light-hearted dinner party with the protagonist's favourite celebrities, she relives the past ten years with each of her five dinner guests, contemplating the significance they've had on her life and considering her future. The characters were rendered in a really believable way, better than most books I read of this genre, which was what compelled me to keep reading. Even Audrey Hepburn, who I knew little about before reading this book, seemed as real as day and I now want to know more about her. A very thought-provoking book, while still retaining the fun that makes it a pleasure to read. Highly recommended.
