On first impressions, I absolutely love the books cover. It is bright and stands out. I would definitely pick it up if I saw it in a book shop. After first read, I am undecided. I did not love it or hate it but I am a little intrigued to know where this book leads.
The book starts with the main character, who is Sabrina, entering a restaurant to find the exact group of people she has wished to having a dinner party with. They were her best friend, her dead Dad, Audrey Hepburn, a university professor and a lost love. The story develops the characters through switching between the present day dinner party and snapshot chapters of the past, which fills us in on the relationship of each character with Sabrina.
During reading this snippet of the book it made me question a lot of things. What if Sabrina is in a coma and this is part of her recovery process? Maybe she’s drunk and now she is hallucinating things?
I don’t think I will ever buy this book but I do recommend trying to read it. Who knows it maybe you will enjoy reading it?
