Oh dear dear me. As an avid reader of books of all kinds, this effort left me cold and wanting. I found the book very slow moving, with little hope of changing speed. The characters just didn't seem to grip me. With a whole world of possibilities, I thought the cross section of people was not diverse enough. Surely a politican, a doctor, a scientist, an astronaut or a pop star could have added the much needed energy to the procedings. However, Sabrina was a light in an otherwise dark tale. Her character was somewhat naive, but full of life and hope. I didn't care what the rest of the book had to offer. If I owned it, I probably would never have finished it, which is always a last resort for me.
