Suspend belief

I was intrigued by the concept of this book, don't we all have a wish list of a group of amazing guests we'd like to have round for dinner? Unfortunately I then spent the majority of time as I was reading it, wondering where it was going, and ended up skipping forward to find out.

The story really concentrates on Sabrina and Tobias' relationship over the years, and I felt most of the other members of the dinner party were superfluous to the story, and their characters weren't really developed.

It was an easy read, as the chapters are short, and even though the book flips between the past and the current evening, it is not hard to follow.

Ultimately, I did find the final few chapters extremely moving, and was pleased I had suspended belief and read this novel.
