It did take me a little while to get into this book as it was based in America and I had to get used to the style and phrasings mentioned.

Each chapter in the book alternates between one about her current moment during the meal and then flicks back to her journey with her one true love Tobias. Over the evening you get to see how each person at the table has made an impact on her life and also get the story of how she got to that point with Tobias.
It is very moving as she heals a rift with her long dead dad and before the stroke of midnight she deals with her feelings and emotions about Tobias and how she should live her life.
