Compelling and an engaging character

I really liked this first view. Mafalda put me in mind of Auggie from Wonder straight away, with a clear, authentic child's voice which tells her story well. The format, counting down the distance that she can see seems to work really well and to chronicle Mafalda's walk into darkness. I would like to read the rest of this book.
The cover is clever, echoing the eye test board. I liked it.
