You are in her eyes that are losing sight and soon going in the dark. You understand her fear of the dark and right away fall in love with the friendship between Filippo and Mafalda.
Filippo is strong and stands up for Mafalda. He does not take no for an answer and love’s her deeply. Estella the caretaker, is also Mafalda’s friend. She is not afraid to tell the truth, even when it hurts. This is difficult for Mafalda to hear but the reader can always relate to the situation.
