I was drawn to this book immediately from the first look and the short synopsis of the story and it didn’t disappoint. This story is written from the point of view of a little girl who is slowly losing her sight, and it’s innocence is completely heartbreaking to read, I enjoyed how the author described the distance the little girl was able to see and how it was deteriorating by using the distance that she was able to see her favourite cherry tree. The book has some interesting characters in it but I would have liked to have seen some input from the parents as well as the little girl, as a parent myself and a parent with a child with additional needs it would have been nice to read what they were going through as I kept comparing a lot of my own feelings with what they must have been feeling, but that is just personal preference. I would definitely recommend this book but beware you will cry!!!
