I am not at all sure whether this was worth reading. It is about a ten year old girl who is losing her sight. Unfortunately the character is very naive and simplistic and the book seems to be based perhaps in the fifties or sixties even though the child has current electronics. This could be due to it being a translation. The song mentioned is the Beatles “Yellow Submarine “ which fits in with the feel of the era of the book but there were no MP3 players then. I do not find this nostalgic just annoying. The book reiterates the same things over and over again and you are left waiting for something to happen. I ended up with no sympathy for the lead character and there was no substance in most of the supporting characters. I would not have completed reading the book if I hadn’t agreed to review it.
