This is just your classic chicklit I had a bit of a rocky start with this book, picking it up and putting it down only after a few pages, because it seemes so much like Chocolat by Jacqueline Wilson, I couldn't believe it. But thankfully I gave it a second chance and it developed into an amazing, compelling story. I read most of it in one sitting.

It was different, at times I forgot that it wasn't based in history. The characters really drew me in and I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I would love to read more about Ella and her mother Fabbia. Made me want to check all my clothes to see if there were any words stitched into the seams. No magic for me but the book had plenty :)
