I read this book last year!
The Dress by Sophie Nicholls is an airy example chick lit. It follows the story of Ella and her mother, Fabbia as they open a vintage dress shop in York. The book blends fantasy and romance but it's still, in my opinion, nothing more than a light read with no real story or depth. The slightly fantasy flow of the book makes it a little more unique than your everyday romance novel but it still fell flat for me.
I have to admit I did not finish this whole book and only read about 100-150 pages before setting the book aside as not for me. That being said, if you like airy light reads or chick lit you will probably enjoy this book a lot more than I did, unfortunately I am not a great lover of what I would deem "chick lit". 2/5 star.
