The synopsis really attracted me to this book so I started to read with great anticipation.
The story is about Mim a mixed race beautiful girl who had been sold to a travelling side show in Georgian England. She is treated as the lowest of the low looking after the animals. Until Dr Fox a gentleman with a machine that makes electrickery and he uses her in the show selling electric kisses as a penny a go. The novel tells the story of how she learns how to love and start of her education into scientific experimentation. The rises and falls of her life.
The book is reasonably well written but runs out of steam at the end with I feel a very contrived ending following a long time lapse where I wonder if the author just couldn’t be bothered to get from one scenario to the end one.
