I was really looking forward to this book of magical realism after recently reading the toymaker and the night circus. I have got to admit though that the electrical venus did not encapture me like these others books in the same genre. Therefor I was quite dissapointed. I feel that the author should have padded out this book, in order to explore the characters in more depth and the story at hand. I feel if they did this then I would have been more captured by this story. The writing was well done however I feel like it had the potential for much more. Therefore I wouldn't say that this is a book that I would recommend in particular due to it not being explored as much as it could have been.
