okay so i was super excited when i first found out about this book! i was looking forward to a new book on carnivals - i’m a huge lover of caraval, so this was just so exciting
i don’t want to say i was disappointed because i wasn’t - i relaly did enjoy the first part of the book. it didn’t have *much* magic, but the plot was intriguing and i thought maybe i would end up loving the book
sadly i didn’t- it just wasn’t the book for me. i didn’t think the plot was well enough developed, and the building wasn’t as strong as it could have been.
i truly was looking forward to this book, so okay i am a tad bit disappointed. i know that there are others who disagree and enjoyed it, and that’s cool of course! we all have our opinions :)
