This is an intriguing story about 17 year old Fleetwood Shuttleworth married, and pregnant for the fourth time. But unfortunately she hasn't been able to carry the previous pregnancies to term and desperate that this time she will carry her child to,term. she sees a letter from a doctor that doesn't give. Good outlook for her current pregnancy. When fear sends her out walking on her grounds she comes across a mysterious Woman in the woods who may or may not be able to help with her dilemma. Entangled with this is the fear of witchcraft in the community and how this is dealt with by those in authority. The characters are well written and I found myself drawn into the tale and looking forward to reading more
