I felt sad yet intrigued for the lead character Fleetwood from the first chapter of this book. Her life was one of class and duty and her sole purpose defined by the ability to have a child-how different to modern times!. I sense that there will be lots of twists and turns within this book and that it will prove to be an enthralling read.
