Sometimes a novel set in the 1600s can feel like hard work to read, as the author sets the scene and establishes its authenticity.
In this case, Stacey Hall pulls you straight into the story, I liked that it was personalised by being written in the first person- and wanted to keep reading.
I grew up near Pendle Hill, so can vividly imagine the location. I am intrigued to find out where the plot is going to take me.
