I can’t lie the cover is what first drew me to this book - it’s beautiful! So much detail and every time you look at it, you see something you missed before.
Reading the synopsis, I was intrigued by the magical element of the story and also the sadness of Fleetwood’s situation. To be so young but have already suffered through so much loss, I truly felt for her.
I was surprised by how much was captured in such a small extract: the letter detailing Fleetwood’s health and her husband’s potential deceit, the mysterious woman in the woods not to mention the tale of a witch cursing a man.
Great opening and definitely piqued my interest!
