Oh wow , I absolutely loved this book, not only does it have a beautiful cover but it also has an intriguing, mysterious story line.
It is not my normal genre, but I saw someone recommend it online and the blurb captured me at the word ‘witchcraft’. It made me remember when I was a teenager and myself and some friends took an interest in witchcraft after watching the film The Craft. This book has sparked up my interest again.

It shocked me how young Fleetwood was when she was first married, a child of that age should be playing with her dolls with not a care in the world !
Fleetwood started off a timid and weak character who frustrated me at times but with the help of Alice Gray, she became not only healthier but also a strong, independent young lady who stood up for what she believed in.

Alice was my favourite character, she was mysterious and shy, yet she knew exactly how to help Fleetwood. I often found myself questioning as to whether she was a witch.

I felt Richard was very disrespectful to his wife, he treated her more like a servant than his wife but I suppose that’s how it was in that era.

I highly recommend this book.
