This was an absolutely wonderful book and I really enjoyed reading it. A great historical fiction that contains complex and dimensional characters and an excellent plot. Evey few chapters a new piece of vital information would be given that would make the book make all the more sense. A great debut novel, definitely going to keep an eye out for this author.
The writing style was beautiful, everything was eloquently detailed without dragging on for too long, and not once had I felt there was a lack of detail somewhere. The main characer Fleetwood and her companion Alice are a wonderful pair and I loved getting to know them. By the end of the novel I was just sad to say goodbye, would love a sequel.
