I love the cover of this book its very eye catching and I did not know that it was based on real life facts on the Pendle witches which i have never heard of before and the author has put a lot of time and effort into making sure she got all the correct information.
Set in 1612 Fleetwood Shuttleworth is just 17 and she is pregnant with her fourth child and she is in fear that both their lifes are at risk.
I liked the adventure in the book and it kept me hooked on and wondering what would happen to the midwife alice.
Alice gets arrested and fleetwood is worried as she only wants alice as the midwife.
Alice was found innocent and never to be seen again but she left her mark in the house with her initials. I do feel the ending was rather abrupt and would have liked a ending to it.
