A story full of magic and women that unite, the blurb was promising and something that I thought I would enjoy...and the story did not disappoint!
At first, I was struggling to get into it...Fleetwood, the main character, seemed too subdued, to into her own shell, unable to make her own voice heard...however, once I settled into the mindset of the era it’s set in, I realised that she was powerful in her own way so I stuck to it...and I’m so glad I did!
Throughout the whole story, there is not one single character that doesn’t grow and evolve, or that doesn’t show deeper hidden layers and motives. The story is captivating, it’s written in an engaging way that makes you sympathise and grow attached to the characters and their lives, it makes you want to know more, it has you longing to know how it will end, without wanting to reach the end and bid these characters goodbye.
