Woah! I found this book with an amazing sale on amazon and only paid two pounds for it, the main reason why I bought it. I thought it seemed like a great adult fantasy and was not disappointed at all once I read it. The book is quite thick but I found it easy to get through quickly, I finished it in only 2 days as I could not take my eyes away from the pages. The characters were full of life and you could really immerse yourself into the pages while reading the book. It's truly astounding that this is Stacey Halls' debut novel, as the world is thoroughly put together and has very advanced but easy to read writing. I would love to have a sequel or a book set in the same world and era, although I think this book sits well as a stand alone. I'm definitely very glad to have picked this up, not to mention the cover is absolutely gorgeous and looks amazing on my bookshelf.
