A great quick read, large text so you can fly through this book.

I've always loved witch trial stories and only recently learned of the Pendle witches so it was nice to recognise the names of those on trisl and places they visited etc.

It was the cover of the book that made me make the purchase but Ironically it was the familiarity of this story that drew me in and made me finish the book in under 2 days.

The characters are endearing or horrid in the exact way they should be for the time period, the terminologies, interactions and betrayals are typical of the era and allow you to immerse yourself in the period.

My only con of the book is that although you encounter the women on trial through the stories of their crimes, you don't actually get to encounter the women themselves in the story, I would have liked to hear the woman tell their own tales if even only briefly.

Otherwise a wonderful read for a rainy day
