I was mainly drawn to this book by the stunning front cover and the story itself did not disappoint. It is a historic fiction novel based around a young girl who is married to a rich man and who has been unsuccessful in giving him children. This leads to her getting mixed up with the witch trials from that time.
It is an interesting insight into what might have gone on in that time period especially for people (like me!) who have a morbid fascination with anything to do with the witch trials. I feel like you get quite attached to some of the characters and so it feels really frustrating and unfair what some of the women from that time had to go through just for being a bit different or slightly on the edge of society.
I found the book really easy to read and finished it within a day as I was anxious to find out what happened. It also seemed really well researched and the author seemed to have a good understanding of what it would have been like to live in that time period.
