A review on the front cover by Jesse Burton was a great start! I loved The Miniaturist and anything that involves a hint of sorcery or supernatural elements. Arthur Miller’s The Crucible in 6th form was the text that sparked my interest in this subject. This extract has certainly got my attention!
Short chapters are always a winner for me as it means I can read a chapter in short windows of opportunity available. Main character already intrigued me and drip feed of just enough detail to arouse curiosity about previous events and possible links to supernatural elements. All creates sense of mystery and entices me to read on. I would certainly buy this book as I must find out who she really is and what happens next.
