This debut novel deserves a total of 5 stars!
I fell in love with the characters, and the gothic mystery vibe. Stacey Halls has done with this book. Everything about this book was just terrific. The setting was creepy but in a very enticing way. To say that this book made be anxious would be an understatement, it was a very fast read with lots of action.
Fleetwood is my all time favourite character, and I felt very sympathetic towards her and the situation she was stuck in.
I can't say enough nice things about this book. The pacing is good. What can be better than a historical fiction book, which makes you thing about the issues with society and how some of these issues are still relevant today.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book (twice haha) and I would have to say that Stacey Halls managed to capture my attention. Fantastic book, and a great read.
