Simple book, easy to read but nothing special. The book had potential in premise but just missed the mark for me.

Not a lot happened as it seemed just to be laying down the ground work, for the sequel. I have decided I will not be reading the sequel as this book did not do enough to grip me and keep me on the edge of my seat. Can easily be read as a stand-alone and I don’t believe you miss out on anything by not reading the rest of the series.

The book is about female friendship with some historical context and witch trials. The female friendship storyline is a new one for me and I very much enjoyed it, especially as the other characters in the protagonists life failed her in that respect. The story showed the importance of sticking up for those who are innocent and not to give up on a cause even if it seems like the end is not achievable or in your favour.

Would recommend as it is a quick and easy read.
