Loved the history, and could really relate as being a Lancastrian myself, i have an avid interest in the stories of the famous Lancaster witch trials. This book gives an insight as to what life was or could be like in those times. Well written, interesting, and draws the reader into the story. The characters depicted are interesting, and its easy to imagine what life they led. Great read... Loved it! The story of the Pendle witches is intertwined somehow, and makes fascinating reading. Fleetwood is merely a child, but is on her fourth pregnancy, and her 'midwife' Alice is a fascinating character, who, because of her knowledge in 'medicines' of sorts, could be misunderstood as being a 'witch'.. Makes you grateful that we are not living in those times!..
