I was not sure i would like this book but how wrong was I from the moment i picked it up I was gripped.
I felt for the main character, when she read the letter informing her husband that if the child was born the mother would die what a thing to be burdened with and at such a young age as well.
I also felt for the husband as he cleary loved his wife even though he did keep a mistress.
I would love to have known a little more about the main characters background and why she was married off at such a young age before she was then married to her current husband. I think the author could have explored this a little more.
I have never really heard much about the Pendleton witches but this book has left me wanting to know more about them and the harsh treatment they received for being what would now be called herbalists.
i cant wait to read the next book by this author
