I was drawn in by the synopsis and it sounded interesting. Only after reading the synopsis did I understand the front cover, which made it more appealing. However upon reading the extract I found the writing style was not to my taste right from the start. This is clearly a very well written piece but I found it too "wordy" as if it was trying to be too eloquent. I understand that the author is trying to set the scene and be descriptive but I didn't find myself being able to picture the scene with this description. This synopsis had potential for me but unfortunately I wouldn't be able to read a whole book like this.
