I enjoyed this book even though Ada appears quite a cold calculated character. When her father dies and then the family home is lost Ada feels she needs to regain he social standing, she fails to get a place in Oxford but her godmother encourages her to attend a course in Italy which she helps fund. There seems like there is much more to Ada than originally meets the eye and I'm intrigued to learn more about her. The style of writing was very good and the front cover really attracted me to read the book.
