This one was a bit of a slow burner for me but towards the end I was really invested in the story.
When Ada was 13 her father dies and they have to sell the family home which is a grand estate. She never recovers from this saying that it was her ancestry and history that has now gone and she blames her mother for selling it and feels that her destiny has been altered by this. Her wealthy godmother pays for her to complete a holiday for privaleged students wishing to take a gap year before University and Ada jumps at the chance of being amongst people who she feels will be able to propel her back into the privaleged life that she has been left out of and craves for - a tragedy happens whilst they are in Italy and the consequences are unearthered years later.
Once this got going I really enjoyed the story and liked how the story developed and turned out the way it did.
