I really wanted to like this book however I just couldn't connect to the story.

The whole first part to the book was incredibly slow, it gives you a build up and a background to the characters and how there relationship are formed, however the overload of 'knowledge' that actually brings nothing to the narrative spoiled the first 150 pages of the book for me. I'm not uncultured and I was intrigued by the settings when I read the first few chapters but the pace just didn't pick up leaving me detached from the story.

The second part was ok, you pick up little bits of information here and there but most of what happens doesn't seem to flow like you'd expect. It's a bit all over the place.

Part three I actually enjoyed, the pace of events picked up and I absolutely flew through the last 100 pages. I didn't really guess the twist until quite close to the end but the biggest shock was the epilogue.. really didn't see it coming, it made sense when you know but either way didn't guess the twist.

The characters were truly awful, entitled rich kids. I don't think I liked any of them. The whole story was based around Ada and written solely from her pov, part of me wanted the best for her, wanted to like her but I just couldn't she's probably the worst of the lot of them. Not being rich like the rest of the group made her bitter and sly, lying to everyone including herself about the type of person she really was.

I commend the author I actually think her style of writing was beautiful, her words made it easy to visualize the settings/ places. I would pick up another book by her but this one just missed the mark for me.
