The favour by Laura Vaughan is a book that I wouldn’t quite know how to categorise and I only give it 3 stars because it didn’t really come to much but it was a good read. The dynamic of friendships was interesting and I could understand Ada’s need to fit in and her struggles with this. The characters were all posh and pretentious and Ada’s mother seemed mean and insufferable.
The death of Mallory was just a bit meh and almost didn’t play a part in the book like I thought it would or should. I didn’t really like any of the characters at any point which was disappointing. Not that I would ever be involved in a murder coverup but - if I was then you best believe I would go separate ways with my so called friends instead of being excited that there is suddenly a bond!
