I was really excited to read this book I was intrigued by the setting, the characters and the story and it looked like the perfect book to escape with on a long winters evening.
I'm afraid to say that I was disappointed almost from the beginning. While the setting is lovely, the descriptions and storytelling did not showcase the range o locations and therefore I felt like I missed out of being taken on a journey through each location. The characters and even the main character weren't overly likable and I couldn't warm to them meaning that I didn't feel involved in their journey. They felt like stereotypes with little depth and the dialog was predictable.
It was a shame as the book had all of the ingredients to be great but just missed the mark for me in every way. I struggled to finish it which is rare for me so not one that I would recommend to anyone.
