The book starts off quite well and then it seems to go downhill from there. the story starts with Ada blaming her mum for selling her father's house despite understanding that she is unreasonable in thinking so. needless to say I did not like the main character one bit - Ada Howell but I do think that this is what the author intended. Ada is very privileged, entitled and a bit of a cry baby when she does not get her way.

I am on the fence with this book... there were some parts that I really enjoyed and they piqued my interest and then there were parts which were too wordy and it felt as though big words were thrown in just to sound fancy. I must admit that the cover of the book is brilliant and very well thought out. It gives off venetians vibes which ties in really well with the story.

One thing that I did like is the length of the chapters they were not too long in that the story was dragged out to reach a certain overall page count but also were not to short that it felt like the story was rushed.
