This is an unconventional thriller set in the modern day in both Italy and England, amongst the upper classes. What’s really likeable about it straight away is the central character Ada. She's not the nicest person, but she isn't meant to be. She's cunning and ruthless, and knows how to get what she wants. Right now, what she wants is privilege's- her dad's death left her struck down from wealth. The book follows her academic trip to Italy, where she meets characters such as Mallory and Annabelle. Each side character is dynamic and well-formed.

The writing style is easy to follow but not simplistic. It’s interesting to read particularly for the interplay of the different characters, and how they protect themselves. The plot is full of twists and hooks, and is overall very gripping. Plenty of ups and downs along the way and plenty of surprises. I loved it!
