When 13 year old Ada lost her much loved father, she also lost the way of life that she had grown up with. Ada and her parents lived a privileged life in a large house and lots of money that had come from from her father`s rich family. Some time after her father`s passing, Ada`s mother decided she could not keep up a large house or the lifestyle so she downsized in order to be able to live a much simpler life.
Ada resented this and her mother because she missed her old life very much. One of her father`s relatives, who was also Ada`s godmother, kept in touch with Ada and her mother , and when Ada was eighteen her godmother paid for her to go on an art course in Italy. This meant that Ada would once again be mixing with the offspring of some very rich and influential people. Ada wanted to be part of this set of people, so as well as going on the course on a learning holiday, Ada also set out to make some lifelong friends.
While on the course she did meet some new people and she hoped these new friends would accept her as part of their social circle. But while they were together, there was a tragedy which involved an untimely death for one of the students.
