Sometimes, people (even myself) choose to seperate themselves from the “norms” of what society expects us to be and so we turn to a different reality that allows us to be something greater or even just something different. This novel acknowledges the need for this and without turning it into a murder mystery novel it instead shift the perspective onto the narrators own personal trials and how she used her actions as an escapism, a way for her to find herself And push away what she had been fighting against almost her whole life. She was unhappy with the way she was living her life and so she chose to change her lifestyle and embrace it instead of living life without risks and learning to hate yourself for it. In this way, I can relate to the book and it’s why I enjoyed reading the initial excerpt because it’s just really interesting to see how her story will eventually play out.
